5 jazz bands will perform Nov. 30

For Parkinson's Benefit

“Knock Out Parkinson’s Jazz and Blues Festival,” the second annual benefit for the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center in Phoenix, will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30 at the Scottsdale Plaza Resort, 7200 N. Scottsdale Road, Scottsdale.

The event is sponsored by the Parkinson Network of Arizona, organized by co-chairmen Bob Crozier and Tony Ross, who are Scottsdale residents with Parkinson’s.

The brunch will feature five performances: solo pianist Danny Long, jazz organist Papa John DeFrancesco, Margo Reed with the Joel Robin Quartet, Charles Lewis Quintet and Carmela Ramirez Sextet.

Admission is $75 per person, tickets available by calling 480-595-6890 or go to www.parkinsonaz.org. Net proceeds from admissions and a silent auction will be donated to the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center. Last year’s event raised $10,000.
